The Rans S6ES

The S6ES with the Area 1 wing is the bench mark 3 axis microlight that all the competition tries to imitate. With a MAUW of 450kg its a real super plane.

Its available in either conventional trike or taildragger format using either the Rotax 582 or 912 engines. A whole host of optional extras are available but 912 builders should take care to watch the empty weight.

The kits are complete unlike some of the competition, and include all the components to assemble the basic airframe, including the wheels, tyres, cowlings, seats, fabric skins, Air speed indicator, hardware, UK modifications, antenna mounting etc. All other optional extras available see the Options page

In addition to the airframe kit you would need an engine installation kit and engine, neither of these need to be purchased at the same time as the airframe kit, thus spreading the costs over the build period.

CHT Sender (only)

This is the standard sender used with the VDO cylinder head temperature gauge on all Jabiru engines.

This sender is supplied with a 12mm ring as standard, which is correct for the Jabiru spark plug.

This sender with other ring end terminal sizes can be supplied by special request.

Some aircraft have been found to be incorrectly wired, if you find a CHT sender not working, reverse the polarity on either the back of the gauge or the sender socket. Dont alter the sender plug as that is correct.

Carburettor Ice Eliminator

A lightweight electrical heater that would deliver heat exactly where it is needed; the Butterfly valve and Venturi area. By providing a point heat source in this critical area, ice formation is greatly reduced or eliminated. The system is designed to be ALWAYS ON, therefore eliminating the need for the pilot to remember to select heat on. There are two electrical elements within the unit, each generating 30 watts. It is possible to switch these independently if desired, where for example on a cowled installation you could use both for take off and descent/ landing and one for the cruise. Or just leave both on giving maximum protection all the time.

Jabiru 2200 4cyl 85 BHP Engine

The Jabiru 2200 engine is supplied to specific order only. Please contact the sales department with your enquiry.

Due to the volatile currency exchange rates this engine is priced in Au$ at 15,250 which is the UK delivered price plus vat. The Sterling rate is calculated at the time of order.

The engine comes complete with ram air ducts, engine mounting rubbers, rectifier and a complete exhaust system. When comparing this engine with the Rotax 912UL remember to consider exhaust costs.

This is the complete kit to upgrade a 390 kg Rans S6ESD to 430kgs. The kit includes the replacment fabric skins which are supplied in the colour of your choice. (Skins may take 4 to 6 weeks delivery). If your plane is the S6ES-XL with the fixed flaps, you will need an additional flap operation kit. To move up from 430kgs to 450kgs the engine will have to be changed to either a Jabiru 2200, Rotax 582 or 912. Please enquire for full details.
